What Do You Want From Life?

By Lynn Bradley The tragedy for millions of people is that they never decide what they want from life and make plans for it. Life will provide whatever we demand. Most of us dont demand what we want but simply settle for what our job supplies. Too many jobs are dead-end with little room for advancement. Many dont know what they want to do, so they drift through life with the hope that success will overtake them. Some still have no idea for their lifes profession after they have graduated from college. Sometimes you try something and get lucky. Your talent and temperament fit the job and you do well. Countless others hate their job and never advance to a satisfying one. Decide what you want from life and what it will take to get it. College can be used to explore areas you are interested in. Investigate the requirements of the position you want. Set short and long term goals to do what it takes to achieve it. Stick to your plans no matter what happens. Those that set goals and follow them usually succeed. If you have no goals, you tend to drift through life being the victim of circumstances instead of controlling them. Not having a goal is like driving on the highway when you dont know where you are going. You had better find out. You might be going in the wrong direction. If you aim for nothing, you are sure to hit it. Ten % of life is having things happen to you that you have no control over. Ninety % of life is how you react to the other ten %. You cant control the ten % but you can control the ninety %. You cant control what happens, but you can soften the blow of unfortunate times by saving money for emergencies. Millions fall into the credit trap. Credit is a great thing when used wisely, but it will ruin your chances for a decent life if not controlled. Anyone familiar with simple arithmetic should know that you cant pay out more than you take in, yet most families are thousands of dollars in debt. Pay it off as soon as possible. If you pay the minium amount on a large debt it will take most of your life to pay it off, if you ever finish. You cant afford the extra interest. Most of us have to buy homes and automobiles on credit. It is best to use as little for other things as possible. Leave your credit cards at home when you go shopping so that you will have to think about it for a while before using them. Getting enough ahead to make some sound investments is a tremendous help. Compound interest adds up fast and having it work for instead of against you makes a big difference. After you have invested regularly for a few years, the interest you receive makes it unnecessary to live from paycheck to paycheck. You can subtract your IRA investment from your taxable income. You pay no tax on it until you take it out. Roth or other plans may work even better for you. It is recommended that you save at least ten % of the money you make. Keep some in the bank and invest the rest. Set aside a certain amount to invest each month. If the market is up you will buy fewer shares. If it is down you can buy more. If you have a knowledge of investments and are willing to keep up with how they are doing, you might do well deciding what to invest in yourself. If not, it would be wise to rely on a professional. Choose wisely because some brokers are more interested in their profit than yours, and will load you down with a lot of activity with the resulting commissions you will have to pay. Look for someone you can trust who has your best interest at heart. If you dont have a plan for your life, you have no purpose. There is no sense of urgency and you are more inclined to splurge on pleasure and creature comforts. When you have a goal and a budget you already know what to spend your time and money on. You can be content in tough times because you know that you are doing the best you can with the present circumstances. You know that difficult times will only be temporary and that success is hidden behind the rough spots. Having short time goals permits you to break down the task into bite size steps and are more likely to stick to your plans. If you just have a long time goal, you will be more easily discouraged because what you have to do seems out of reach. It is important to know what you desire from life, so that you wont waste your time doing things that do not contribute to what you want to accomplish. — You have permission to publish this article if the byline at the bottom. The ULTIMATE Bait Guide

By Martin Davies After location bait and it’s correct presentation is the most important factor governing success or failure. No matter how expensive your tackle is, if the fish won’t bite you go home empty. Freshwater fish can go several months without eating, most marine fish can not, indeed many marine fish will die if not fed several times a day( a big problem for aquarists rather than anglers). Fish will eat a wide range of prey as cutting open the stomach will show but these are not always the best baits to use. Remember your bait is not the only piece of food in the water, the secret of angling is to make the fish ignore everything else and take your bait instead. Fish are not stupid, they want as much food as possible for as little effort as possible. This is known as optimal foraging theory, and although a contraversial subject amongst ethologists it’s well worth remembering. Imagine a bass spotting a sandeel some distance away, first he calculates the energy he’ll use to catch it then balances it against the energy gained by eating it, only if the pay off is greater than the effort will he bother. No fish is going to swim very far off course to pick up a puny little worm on your hook, imagine driving to the out of town supermarket just for one can of beans. This is the first rule DO NOT SKIMP WITH BAIT. Be generous, make it worth the fishes while to stop chasing that shoal and pick up your static large portion. A fish can be said to show a preference for a food if it seeks out that item despite other food items being more available. This is the second rule STICK WITH THE WELL KNOWN BAITS (Yes we’ve all heard stories of some guy sticking a cream bun on a hook for a laugh and landing 30 lb cod). If one bait does not work try another as different species prefer different food and the colour of the water can play a big part. If you have an idea for a new bait try it out when the fishings good, if everybody else is catching bag fulls and your frozen fishfingers are too then your on to something. Rule number three is MATCH THE SIZE OF YOUR BAIT TO THE SIZE OF THE FISH YOU EXPECT TO CATCH. Cod have large mouths and appetites to match, flatties have little mouths and cannot fit a size 6/0 hook laden with a mussel and lug cocktail in their gobs. Match the size of the hook with the size of the bait, a small hook buried deep inside a bait is well protected and the fish will not be impaled. If you are fishing for the smaller species it is better to use a 2-4 hook paternoster and spread the bait out rather than lump it on one hook. A pennel rig is two hooks in the same bait and increases the chance of contact when large baits are used. The final rule is PRESENT IT PROPERLY . A lugworm suspended 3 ft above the seabed will set alarm bells ringing that somethings not quite right. Worm Baits Worm baits fall into two groups Ragworms and lugworms. All are treat in much the same way, stick the hook in the tail end and thread up the line till you reach the desired size. A pennel rig should be used when fishing multiple worms. RAGWORMS Lots of species available all make good bait. The big one is the king rag Nereis virens reaching 40 cm in length. Paddle, rock and cat worms are similar in appearance and should not be ignored. Many species have jaws (nippers), these can give a very mild nip. Can be dug up or found under rocks. Cultured ragworm is readily available all year round from most bait suppliers. Do not freeze ragworms. LUGWORMS Two species are used as bait The common lugworm Arenicola marina which lives in sheltered sandy beaches in a U shaped burrow with a cast and hole at each end. And Black lug Arenicola defodiens (also called runnydown) is much larger and does not form a hole next to the cast. There can be a lot of local names for lugworms runnydown, yellowtails, blowlug etc. To dig up the common lugworm dig a trench and work along it filling it in as you go. This produces the greatest number of worms for the least effort and prevents the beach looking like the surface of the moon. Much is said baout the environmental impact of bait digging by anti-angling idiots. However it must be remembered that a single rough sea can strip an entire beach of lugworms and all its sub-sand organisms which I think puts my dozen worms in perspective. Do not dig around boat moorings for obvious reasons. A while back someone got into bother for bait digging in Duridge Bay (around the time vast quantities of sand were being removed for commercial purposes). Black lug have to be dug out individually, always handle with wet hands to prevent them busting. Black lug can be frozen easily. Pop them and squeeze the guts out. Lie them straight on a couple of layers of newspaper. Cover with a generous layer of salt for about 3 hours Shake off the salt and repeat steps 2 and 3. Shake off the salt and lie the worms one inch apart on a length of newspaper Roll up the paper and freeze. Frozen black lug is ok when you fancy a nights fishing and you’ve missed the bait shop but it can’t beat fresh bait. Mussels and Razorfish Mussels can be bought alive from fishmongers or frozen from bait shops and pet shops. Most housewives know to reject mussels that don’t clamp shut when tapped but anglers need not worry about this as mussels which are “off” often make the best bait. Live mussels can be parted from there shells by severing the anterior and posterior adductor muscles and scooping out, or leaving to die in a bucket (helps bring out the flavour). Mussels are not on the menu normally as they are protected by a hard shell, those which are eaten have normally died and have been washed out. Tie mussels on to the hook with thread, taking care not to pull to tight. I like to freeze them on the hook and keep them wrapped separately until needed, this allows them to be cast further, they will defrost quickly once they hit the water. Adding pilchard oil to the mussel before freezing increases its effectiveness. Although the edible mussel Mytilus edulis is the one normally used as bait the horse mussels Modiolus modiolus can also be used. Other native species are too small to bother with. Mussels bought frozen pet shops are very small and make good lugworm and mussel cocktails. Mussel beds are also good places to fish. Razorfish Ensis siliqua, also called pod razor and spouter fish are rarely for sale so have to be gather by hand. Walk along the low tide mark without shoes on very softly and look for keyhole shaped holes in the sand. Pour salt down the hole and grab tightly when it pops out. The smaller Sword razor is also suitable. Treat as mussels for bait. Many species of bivalves can be found buried in the sand e.g. gapers, scallops, tellins, cockles, oysters, etc and are worth trying for bait where they are abundant. Do not bother with limpets Fish as bait Big fish eat little fish, but which ones are best for bait. Whilst many fish will eat anything that fits in their mouths not all are suitable for bait. When there is a lot of undersize fish about nicking the bait the use of small baitfish can help target out the bigger specimens HERRING AND MACKEREL Grouped here together because they are treat in much the same way. Use whole fish for shark and conger, Conger are a rare catch in north east england, although the rocks off Craster and Dunstanburgh have been know to produce. Removing the backbone so the two flanks are separate and can flap freely is a good way to present this bait. Shark fishing is unheard of from the beaches around here. More commonly these fish are cut into bite size strips before use. They give off a lot of scent and are unbeatable for coalies in the summer. Thin strips fished with a float will produce bags full of mackerel from almost any pier in the summer. When the shoals are in it is worth taken a few for dinner and bait but don’t go crazy, dozens of dead fish next to you impresses no one and you risk a earful from more conservation minded anglers. Mackerel are also caught using feathers or any small shiny lure on light tackle. Although mackerel and herring can be bought frozen from bait shops they often turn to a mush when defrosted. Fish mongers are a better source but buy ready filleted as you will get more for your money and make sure they have not been smoked. PILCHARDS, SARDINES No not the tinned ones, I’ve tried them they don’t work. These can be bought frozen in many supermarkets and fish mongers. Like mackerel and herring they are an oily fish giving off plently of scent. Being smaller they can be used whole when a mackeral would be too large or cut into strips. Warning, it is a good idea to keep the bag marked “pilchards” with you when fishing in case someone accuses you of killing undersized fish for bait. SANDEELS AND LANCE FISH Sandeels can be used live by hooking threw the upper lip or threw the base of the eye socket using a fine wire hook. There is a space here so little damage is done. Dead sandeels are hooked by sliding them mouth first on to the hook and turning so the hook comes out the anal area. The quality of frozen sandeels varies from bait shop to bait shop with those which turn mushy best avoided in future. Sandeels are best fished with a light rig with a long snood that moves around giving the impression that the sandeel is struggling in the surf. It is common to find cod and whiting stuffed full of sandeels. Live Sandeels cast poorly, ripping lose if any real power is applied. Live sandeels are caught in seine nets or found buried in the sand along the low watermark. Keep cold and well aerated in a non metal container. Lance fish are bought frozen from pet shops. Make sure you get the larger size (about 2 inches) and make a good alternative to sandeels when a smaller bait is needed. Unlike sandeels they may be fed to pet fish at home. If the fishing tackle shop is closed or out of bait pet shops can be a good alternative WHITEBAIT Bags of these little silver fish can be bought cheaply from fishmongers. Defrost enough for your trip because they dont refreeze well. OTHER SMALL FISH Rock pools are full of small fish which at first though could be used as bait. However unless you know what is what it is best to leave them alone. Some may be rare or endangered species, others will may have defensive mechanisms to deter predators and all will have cryptic colouration for camouflage. Undersized fish should be returned alive to the water and not rehooked as live bait unless there is a very good chance it will be taken. Estuaries in late summer are often jammed packed with very small flounder (often making fishing impossible) and although we’ve all found them inside cod and whiting should be left alone. Many aquarists buy or breed goldfish and livebearers (guppies, mollies etc) to feed to pet fish but these are too expensive for fishing. Squid Squid is readily available from fishmongers, supermarkets and of course your local bait shop. It can be used whole or cut in to strips for the smaller species. Strips can seem a tad thin so cutting twice the length and folding in half is a good idea. Squid is a tough bait which lasts a long time in the water and withstands hard casting making it suitable for tipping off other baits, lug and squid cocktails being an all time cod classic. It is a decent winter bait particularly for whiting but in my opinion nothing special. I have never caught a fish on squid in the summer months, even when anglers around me have been pulling them out like no tomorrow on other baits. Squid is not a food source readily available to fish in the UK so they are probably a little reluctant to try it although crabs seem to be more attracted to squid than any other bait. As a note of interest I have tried feeding both marine and freshwater fish in my aquariums with squid from the petshop and have found that while the marine fish largely ignore it freshwater fish go crazy for it. Should I ever take up course fishing I will certainly be giving squid a try. Those little plastic squids (muppets) are popular with local boat anglers but are not suitable for shore fishing. Peeler Crab The outer shell (carapace) of the common shore crab Carcinus maenas needs to be cast if the crab is to grow. During this stage the crab becomes known to anglers as peeler crab and to cod as dinner. I have been told that fish in aquariums seem to know when the carpace is due to come off and hang around the rock impatiently, it is rumoured the crab always leaves it’s shelter after casting and seeks new shelter. Look for crabs in areas with lots of rock and weed, children seem to have an uncanny knack of knowing which rocks to look under. Look for medium sized crabs, large ones moult less frequently and small specimens should be left till another day. Crabs that are ready to peel will have a hairline crack near the tail end, be dull in colour with a soapy feel. A discarded shell nearby often indicates a freshly peeled crab is nearby. Those not quite ready can be hurried along by storing in seaweed (change regularly) in a cool spot. Never keep soft crabs in the same container as peelers. Leave females with eggs alone. If you intend to lay a bit pipe to catch crabs put it in an difficult to reach place out of site to prevent your crabs from been stolen. To use remove the legs (use to make cocktails), bung on a hook and tie with thread (elasticated bait thread is best but ordinary will do). Large specimens can be cut into smaller pieces. To freeze crab remove the lungs first, I like to freeze them on the hook and pack individually, store in a thermos flask when fishing. Artificial bait Artifical bait is a waste of money. Ignore claims that fish can’t tell the difference or they taste just like the real thing (mmm I can’t believe it’s not lugworm, yeah right). The only artificial bait worth it place in my tackle box are lures, I obtain all my Lures on eBay. Spinning is best done when you know fish are about and where deep water is close in e.g. steep beaches, rocks, piers etc. I like to spin when I prematurely run out of bait. Children who do not yet developed the virtue of patience and winge to check the bait every three seconds can be kept quiet by spinning. It has been said a million times that most lure are designed to catch anglers not fish. One summer I walked along Whitby pier which was packed with people fishing for mackerel. The mackerel shoals could easily be seen yet only a few anglers were landing them. Many lures on sale are designed for the American market. Americans are blessed with shores full of huge predatory fish, we are not. These lures may mimick the baitfish living in the USA quite well but can be of little use in the UK. Also remember that the bass swimming around the UK coastline are a different species from those found in the American lakes. When visiting websites selling lures, claims such as “Best lure in the world” should be taken with a pinch of salt as these claims are impossible to prove. Remember the description was probably written by a marketing executive who has never held a rod in his life. Instead use your own instinct and past experience before parting with your cash. Be sensible with size. The lure should look like potential prey. I have caught very small fish on lures that were bigger than they were and believe this may be due to the lure triggering an attack response rather than feeding one. Use tackle capable of casting a light weight. a drilled bullet or a barrel lead 2ft up the line can be used to gain extra weight. When fishing from a high platform point the rod tip downwards to give more natural movement to the lure. A sink and draw method works best. Cast out let it sink reel in and stop, let it sink and reel in…. Red rubber sandeels are best during the day, Black at night with a full moon. The best colour for other types varies according to weather conditions and visability, if one colour isn’t working switch to another.Keep an eye on other anglers spinning to see which colours are producing on the day. Always incorporate a swivel to prevent line twist. Expect to lose lures. Yes I know they are expensive but so is bait. In bright conditions fish head to weedbeds. Work the lure around weedbeds not through them. Seagulls picking off small fish often indicates the fish have been driven to the surface by larger fish. Reel in the correct speed. Too fast the fish will not attempt to chase, too slow the lure may not move the way it was designed to. Lines of debris on the surface are good places to try, particularly for mackerel. On the tidal run spin so the lure moves in the direction of the current. Dead sandeels move unnaturally through the water when spun. Do not stop working the lure until it is out of the water. When Fishing over rough ground a float can be used to prevent loss. Painting your lead sinker to look like a small fish can attract fish to your bait. Spinning is more energetic than bait fishing and your muscles will quickly become fatiqued reducing your casting distance. Don’t take too much tackle with you, rest every ten casts or so for a few minutes or alternate between bait and spinning duty with a friend. Drinking a glucose based sports drink can help. Powerlifters often take creatine monohydrate as an energy source for explosive movements. I have tried this and found no difference to distance cast or time for fatique to set in. authors website http//:www.cheapestebooksaround.co.uk http://www.cheapestebooksaround.co.uk Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Martin_Davies http://EzineArticles.com/?The-ULTIMATE-Bait-Guide&id=117364 order tramadol cheap buy ultram overnight imitrex buy tramadol 180 tramadol next day without prescription

Spring Cleaning - The Gender Factor

By Elaine Currie Do you like to gamble? Gambling has never much appealed to me but I would be prepared to bet that I can determine your gender simply by asking you two questions. You must give an honest answer immediately, without conferring with any third party, and only your first answer will count. These are the questions: 1. Is your house dusty? 2. When are you going to start your Spring cleaning? If you answered “don’t know” to the first question and had no answer to the second, you are almost certainly male. (If you are male, you should not read any further here, it won’t interest you.) A man will not know, without having to check, whether his house is dusty, the thought would just never occur to him. A woman will answer either “yes” or “no” and, if the answer is affirmative, she will have a plan for imminent dust removal. As to the second question, any answer giving an exact or provisional date (even one that starts: “I’m not sure but”) will indicate that the reply has been made by a female. Silence resulting from amusement or bemusement will indicate a male presence. If you are a man reading this, you will be muttering “how would it matter?”. See, I told you not to read on. It is a fact that men don’t see Spring cleaning in the same way as women. Dust is completely invisible to men until it is drawn to their attention and even then, they cannot recognise it as the enemy. The importance of the Spring Cleaning ritual is not understood by men. The most common male response to a request for assistance with Spring cleaning is: “What, now?”. Women must be careful not to fall into the trap of answering: “No, let’s leave it until Autumn” men will not detect the hint of sarcasm and will go fishing or continue watching TV with a clear conscience. Even after agreeing to participate in the Spring cleaning, men have a tendency to wander away before the job is anywhere near finished. This does not indicate any unwillingness to help, it’s just that men have no way of knowing when the task is complete. The problem is that Spring cleaning inevitably involves tidying things away. Extensive experiments show that it is impossible to teach a man that “untidy” and leaving things lying around because he might want to use them again are the same thing. Women - don’t fall into the trap of suggesting your husband should get rid of all the cupboards and just leave everything lying around conveniently for future use: he’ll think you are serious. If a man promises to contribute to the Spring cleaning by dusting shelves while his wife scours the kitchen cupboards, she will not be impressed if she returns to find the dust undisturbed and her husband happily engrossed in a book. If she asks a perfectly reasonable question like: “Do you have any intention of helping with the Spring cleaning or are you saving the dust until it’s three feet thick?” he will be genuinely baffled as to why she should be so put out. There is no way I’d admit this to men, but I do sort of see their point. The thing is, although I’m sure female standards in the war against dust are right and should be upheld, who is more relaxed and happy? Is it really so important that dust be removed practically before it has settled? Quentin Crisp assures us in his autobiography that, after the first four years, the dust doesn’t get any worse. I often wonder about this but I know, deep down, I wouldn’t last beyond four days if I attempted to reproduce this experiment. I’m sure my husband could do it, if I let him! If a woman did no house cleaning for weeks and then asked her husband: “Do you notice anything different?” His reaction would be the stammering panic which is inevitably inspired by this question while he desperately tries to figure out if she has had her hair restyled, is wearing a new outfit or has undergone cosmetic surgery since he last really looked at her. Give him a million guesses and not one will involve the vacuum cleaner. My belief is that these differences in attitude are due to nature and nothing to do with training - women are born with a dust detection gene that men lack. This gene has not yet been identified by the scientists but I suspect it will turn out to be closely associated with the gene that enables women to spot a chipped manicure or last season’s lip colour instantly. Perhaps we have this gene in place of the ability to read maps gene. How to Choose a Cell Phone Plan for a Family

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Natalie_Aranda]Natalie Aranda Choosing a cell phone plan for an entire family is no easy task, however it can be easier if you know what you are looking for. The following information will help you decide the best cellular phone plan for your family. Number of Phone Lines You will first need to decide how many phone lines you will need. Some companies require at least two or three phones for it to be considered a family plan and then there are some companies that have a limit on the number of lines you may have for it to be a family plan. If you have an exceptionally large family you might need a business plan to accommodate everyone! Once you know the number of phone lines you will need then you can start researching the cell phone companies to see which ones will offer you the best deal. Prices go up with each additional line, but some phone companies have really great rates while others dont. Types of Phones With each new line you will likely be able to get discounted phones. That is if you choose to sign a contract. You will want to look at the phones available and make sure there are phones the whole family will like. Most phone companies have a great selection, but just to be on the safe side its best to check out the selection before signing up. You may want to see what kind of cellular phone accessories are offered as well so you can see if that is the company you want to go with. Or else you can check out the accessories to see if you can find any cheap cell phone accessories elsewhere that will go with the phone you are interested in buying. Minutes/Messages Now, the most important part is how many shared minutes and messages are part of the plan. You want to make sure you get a plan big enough to handle your familys cell phone usage because if you dont then you will pay more in the long run with over the limit charges that are considerably more than you would pay if you just had a bigger package. So, make a good choice up front and your family will really enjoy the family cell phone plan. Natalie Aranda is a freelance writer. Making Heavenly Vanilla Soap Using The Melt and Pour Process

By Jennifer Christine Have you ever been to a beauty shop and smelled the aroma of absolutely gorgeous hand-made soap and thought to yourself, I wish I could do something like this? Well, the good news is that you can, with the right tools, know-how and imagination. So why should you make your own soap? Not only is it fun and exciting, but you get to put exactly what you want in it, design it how you like and choose the colors and fragrance as well. Some store-bought soaps can be full of chemicals that can be harmful to the skin, but if you make your own you know exactly what is in it. What is the melt and pour process? The melt and pour process is exactly how it sounds. You use ready-made blocks of soap that are uncolored and unscented and you melt the soap blocks. Then you add your own colors, fragrances and/or other additives, pour it in a mold and wait until its set. Melt and pour soap bases are available from online soap suppliers or craft stores. One of the advantages of using the melt and pour process to make soap is that you dont have to deal with potentially dangerous lye. The equipment you will need will depend entirely on the soap that you are creating. Youll need either a double boiler or sturdy heat resistant microwave bowl or jug to melt the soap in and a base or mold for the shape of the soap. Also, a couple of whisks or spoons and a set of measuring spoons for additives. These are the basic tools youll need and then you can add absolutely anything you want from there on. Before you start, it is good to bear in mind that the soap can be extremely hot when it has been melted, so it is best to be very careful. If youre using the microwave, make sure you wear protective gloves and use a sturdy potholder to take out the microwave bowl or jug containing the hot melted soap. Its also a good idea to wear gloves if youre melting it in a double boiler, in case you accidentally splash. And make sure youre not disturbed by children or pets. Now lets try out a basic melt and pour soap recipe called Heavenly Vanilla. In order to make this youre going to need the following equipment: Clean cutting board Double boiler or sturdy heat resistant microwave bowl or jug, eg Pyrex Scales (to measure soap) 4 oz or 113 grams of good quality white melt and pour soap base Vanilla fragrance suitable for soap making Clean metal whisk or spoon Clean measuring spoons Clean 3-4 oz basic soap mold Rubbing alcohol in spray bottle Protective gloves Safety goggles Protective clothes Protective shoes Now you have everything you need, so lets move on to the exciting part, making your own soap! After youve put on the safety goggles, protective gloves, clothes and shoes, you can first measure the fragrance and set it aside. Start off using 0.25 ounce of fragrance per pound of soap; you can make it stronger or weaker from there. So for this recipe you would use 1.9 ml or 0.06 oz or 1/4 +1/8 US teaspoons of fragrance. Next, weigh the soap base and melt 4 oz in either a double boiler or in the microwave. If melting it in the microwave, cover the container with Saran wrap to stop the soap from drying out. Melt the soap in one minute increments in the microwave. Stir after every minute while being careful of the hot soap base. Once its totally melted, its time to add the vanilla fragrance that youve already measured and set aside. Add it slowly and stir carefully and gently. If you get bubbles at this stage it means youve stirred it too hard. Now youre ready to pour it into the mold. Pour it very slowly and gently. Avoid splashing. If you get bubbles pouring it into the mold, spritz the surface of the soap in the mold lightly with rubbing alcohol. Now put the mold in a safe place and leave it for a few hours. If youre in a hurry, you can put it in the refrigerator (not the freezer) for about an hour until its set. Once the soap is set (hardened), its time to unmold it. Unmolding soap is just like unmolding a cake from a cake tin. Gently tap the mold then see if the soap pops out. If it doesnt it may need a further tap. If the soap is really stubborn, trying running some warm water over the bottom of the mold. You can now use your Heavenly Vanilla soap right away! Baptism Baby Gifts

By Damian Sofsian Baptism baby gifts are given as part of commemorating a baby’s baptism, which is considered a very important event in a baby’s life. A variety of gifts may be given to babies during the baptism. Gift givers are only limited by their imagination and their budget when choosing the right gift to give babies during this event. Choosing baptism baby gifts may be quite hard when one considers all the options available for gift giving. A lot of people prefer given tried and trusted baby gifts during baptisms. These gifts are not only precious, they are also functional and practical. Personalized baptism baby gifts are preferred by a lot of people because they highlight much thought and consideration on the part of the giver in choosing the gifts. These include personalized baptismal certificates which are strictly decorative that can be customized then framed to be fit as gifts. Commemorative baptismal certificates include the baby’s name, the date and venue of the baptism, even the parents’ names and may be designed based on the giver’s preference. Other personalized baptism baby gifts include commemorative plates that highlight the baby’s foot or hand prints and vital information about the baby. Baby blankets made to last a long time and are considered heirloom quality are also popular baptism baby gifts. Gift givers are faced with a variety of color, cloth and design options in choosing blankets to be given as baptism gifts. Beddings, also made from a variety of fabrics and come in a number of styles, are also popular baptism baby gifts. These bedding come in standard crib sizes and even come in coordinates and with separate pieces made to fit Moses baskets or carriages. Moses baskets are also ideal baptism gifts since they offer substantial historical and Christian elements fit to celebrate one’s acceptance into Christianity and are also attractive and functional for babies and their parents. There are a number of Moses baskets available which come in standard sizes that measure 30 inches by 12 inches with a depth of 9 inches. Baby Gifts provides detailed information on Baby Gifts, Baby Gift Baskets, Baby Shower Gifts, Personalized Baby Gifts and more. Baby Gifts is affiliated with Baby Boy Gift Baskets. Point of View - The Male Boomer and Long-term Relationships

By Phyllis Goldberg, Ph.D. Both men and women are short changed when sweeping generalizations are applied to the male psyche. Men can not all be painted with broad strokes. Some comments from a poll we took may help build a more complex picture of the midlife male perspective, particularly concerning long-term relationships. Often its a struggle for marital partners to maintain commitment to each other. However, many men recognize that the outcome is worth the effort. Henry talked about his secret to success. Weve never lost our focus we knew we had to work to stay together. It was the two of us in the beginning and it would be the two of us when the children grew up. We took at least one trip a year by ourselves and tried to go on a date every week or so, to reconnect. I guess it worked were still together after 25 years. Bill was determined not to make some of the same mistakes with his second wife that he had with his first. I used to believe that my partner would be like my mother - with the added component of sex. That she would be there to take care of me, no matter how I treated her. I grew up after my first marriage failed. My second wife made it perfectly clear about what she needed and wanted in order to make the relationship work. Shared interests have made it somewhat easier for Gary and his wife to feel like a team. We share major goals and support each other in our individual pursuits. We just started taking dance lessons we both love music and want to stay in shape. Collaborating on creative projects in and out of work is important for us.” Shortly after they were married, Ed and his wife came up with a plan to help them maintain their commitment. We decided to make Wednesday nights divorce night. We knew that we had that time to talk about whatever was going on between us. That way we never felt trapped we each knew that we had an out if we wanted one.” The meaning of intimacy can change over time. Rich misses the exciting sexual encounters of their courtship and early marriage. Sexual intimacy is important the relationship would have never started unless we were on the same frequency. Now aging and illness have brought problems and we are experimenting with different ways of being sexual. Matt has been married for 32 years. Our sexual relationship is just as juicy but less frequent. We are more affectionate, but have fewer moments of passion. My current libido feels like Im 35 but my mature mind overcomes dangerous ideas every time. David feels that, although the sexual relationship with his wife is still important, affection plays a bigger part in their intimacy. We are very close and physical. We like to touch, hold each other. We are as intimate as ever even though we are not as sexual. As a single man, Barry had enjoyed an active sex life and finally married later in life. He was determined to make this relationship work. I recognize that Im not a young man anymore and factor that into my thinking about sex. Since this is a marriage and not a date, there are other issues that sometimes get in the way of our feeling close, like resentments about how we each spend money.” Husbands in successful long-term marriages believe that mutual acceptance and respect are crucial. Charles and his wife have learned from each other. I have accepted who she is and Im not trying to change her anymore. The years together have made both of us more tolerant. And I sometimes think that she understands me better than I understand myself. Mike talked about how he was affected by his wifes attitude. I feel her love and respect for who I am and what I say, even though we do not always agree. This makes me feel safe. I look forward to our life together even though we have no idea where it will be or what it will bring. But I want to enjoy it in small and big ways, daily, for however long it will be. Change has probably been an integral part of your marriage - in the roles you each play and in the way you relate to each other. Tom has been able to focus on the changing realities of his situation. Its a matter of accepting what is, rather than what you would like it to be. Its not easy and I feel I am always working toward that goal. Our lives have had a series of ups and downs - we both try to be flexible and accept what is. Usually we succeed and are able to move on. Steve, retired for several years, summed up his marriage this way: We began as husband and wife in a more traditional relationship. Overall, I was the noisemaker and she was the nest-maker. Now Im more involved around the house I help with laundry, do the dishes. Were a team and our roles interchange, depending on who is interested or available. I have learned a lot but changed only a little. I try to be less temperamental, more compromising, more giving. When I was working, I used to be more focused on only myself. Now Im paying attention to me, her and us - and still learning new things about all three. Reading what boomer men say about making marriage work likely validates what youre already doing in your relationship. If not, talk with your partner about the comments that were interesting to you. Begin to integrate the most useful ideas as you continue to experiment with your relationship. The Perfect String Quartet Repertoire for Your Wedding

By Warren Zielinski Here follows suggestions and tips that will help you determine the ideal programme for your Wedding day. A String Quartet can provide music for every stage of your Wedding. First of all, we have the Brides breakfast. If you are hiring the services of a String quartet for the whole day, you may be able to arrange for one or two of the players to come along for this early stage of the wedding at reasonable extra cost. A single string instrument, such as the cello, can provide gentle background music with Schubert’s Ave Maria or the solo suites by Bach. It is considered good form to invite the musicians to have a meal with your guests, especially if there is a long interval between wedding stages. Next follows the Prelude. This is the stage when your guests arrive at the actual venue where the ceremony will take place. This is often a different venue from where the Brides breakfast and / or Reception takes place. You should allow enough time for the musicians to arrive at the wedding venue before your guests! By this stage, the full quartet (all 4 players) will need to be on site for the main part of the ceremony, so it makes sense to take advantage of their presence and ask them to play for the Prelude as well. The Pachelbel Canon is an ideal piece of music for this purpose. As this stage is probably the longest (with exception of the reception), the quartet will need to have a substantial repertoire of peaceful arrival music in order to avoid repitition. Selections such as the Flower Duet from Delibe’s Lakme and The Swan by Camille Saint-Saens are perennial favourites. A good string quartet will be aware of these requirements, and should be able to assure you that their repertoire is varied, extensive and appropriate. Allow up to 30 minutes for this stage. Now comes the big moment of your Wedding day, the Processional (walking down the aisle!) This is when you’ll be very pleased that you hired a String Quartet. The actual music for the infamous ‘Here comes the bride’ is the Bridal Chorus by Richard Wagner. If your prospective ensemble doesn’t know this piece (and it’s proper title), walk away! They most likely will of course. If you have your heart set on something else, you must make sure that the quartet either already has it in their repertoire, or has the resources to acquire it. More obscure musical requests may need to be written specially for quartet. Arrangements of most show tunes etc. should be within the grasp of the quartet musicians themselves. You should however, expect to pay an additional fee for this service. A good arrangement takes time. The Signing of the register is the next stage of the Wedding which requires music. The Andante Cantabile by Tchaikovsky or Alexander Borodin’s Quartet no.2 are both very appropriate for this stage of the wedding, as they are relaxing and soothing pieces of music. Bach’s Air on the G string is also wonderfully effective. This allows everyone in the room to have a bit of a breather and will help to release any tension in the room! You should ensure that the quartet you have hired has the entire selection prepared, and not just excerpts, again to avoid endless repetition of ‘the famous bits’. That’s it, you’ve done it, you’re married! All that’s left for you to do is to walk back down the aisle, the Processional. Unless you have very strong feelings about an alternative piece of music, it is advisable to stick with the Wedding March by Felix Mendelssohn. Everybody expects to hear it, it suits the occasion perfectly and is a fantastic piece of music perfectly matched to the sound of the String Quartet. It’s party time! The reception follows the processional, and often takes place at a different location from the wedding ceremony. In order to ensure that the musicians arrive before the guests, it is advisable that you allow them to leave the ceremony immediately following the conclusion of the processional. There is a huge amount of very good Quartet repertoire which is suitable for a Wedding reception. It would be possible to satisfy the needs of your reception with the music of Mozart alone! Of course, an experienced quartet should have a balanced repertoire. Even so, It is worth checking that the musicians have certain pieces in their arsenal. Make sure that they have on hand all the well-known baroque and classical masterpieces by Mozart, Haydn and Handel, some light music classics, jazz standards, show tunes and arrangements of other popular songs. You should expect to hear Ein Kleine Nachtmusic (a little night-music) by Mozart, Boccherini’s Minuet and The ragtime music of Scott Joplin to name but a few. IT Marketing: How to Ask for Referrals

By Joshua Feinberg Referrals are a great way of IT marketing. In this article, you’ll learn how to ask for them. The Question The key IT marketing question to ask your clients is Do you know anyone else who could benefit from our services? Write it down on your hand. Write it down on your PDA. Look at it every morning before you talk to clients. Get very, very used to asking that question. Do you know anyone else in your circle of friends, family members, business associates, colleagues, vendors who could benefit from our services? IT Marketing: Teach Your Clients How to Recognize Potential Referrals You need to train your good clients to recognize the telltale signs of someone needing your services. For instance, they are on the phone and hear them complaining about their slow computers. Or they can’t email back because their system is down again. Those are golden leads for you. You need to let your client know that you would sincerely appreciate the referrals. Create a Client Survey Another way to get referrals is by surveying your customers at least once a year. While doing so, you can ask them to list some people they know that might be interested in your services. You can also do something a little more regularly like a statement stuffer. A statement stuffer is a card or flier you put in with your invoices. This card talks about how you appreciate referrals and what kinds of businesses you work with and that they should keep you in mind. Referral Rewards If you want to kind of grease the skids and get even more of this going, think about starting a formal referral program. Let them know that you will reward them for referrals that turn into customers. Some rewards could be: o $100 credit on their account o $100 gift check o $100 to the charity of their choice Rewarding clients for helping you with your IT marketing is a great way to get referrals. The key thing is, ask for referrals and ask for them often. The Bottom Line on IT Marketing One of the best forms of relationship IT marketing is asking your current clients for referrals to other businesses that can use your services. Party Glamour - 7 Holiday Makeup Tips for Busy Women

By Livia Mercer With the party season almost on top of us we all need to refresh our Party Glamour Repertoires. Almost all of us are pressed for time and dont have hours or even an hour to do our makeup. So I have compiled some tips for getting ready for that party or BBQ no matter how rushed you are. 1) Start Fresh: Before you do anything else, make sure your skin is well cleansed and moisturised. Dont even think about just adding some more makeup on top of what you have on. Trust me, this will only take a few minutes but the results will justify spending the time. Take your makeup off; the makeup remover wipes are fantastic to remove makeup in a hurry. Rinse your face with water, and then add moisturiser. You may find that the moisturiser you used in winter may be too heavy for summer, especially if you are outdoors, so opt for an oil free moisturiser. In summer a lot of women find tinted moisturisers an excellent choice. 2) The Right Foundation: You must remember that your foundation is not a mask. Your foundation is designed to even out your skin tone and hide any blemishes, but most of all it must look natural. Use a foundation type that you find the easiest to apply in a hurry. If you find liquid foundations too fussy, opt for a powder foundation. Generally anything that can be applied with a makeup sponge or a brush is quick and easy to apply. 3) Healthy Holiday Glow: Brush Bronzing Powder over the top of your foundation or tinted moisturiser for an instant healthy holiday glow. For this, use a large round brush, dip it into your Bronzing Powder and then knock the base of the brush against a hard surface. This will disperse the powder from the tip of the brush allowing you to get a very natural looking glow all over the face. Remember to take the Bronzing Powder past your jaw line, down your neck and even down your dcollet if you are wearing a revealing top. 4) Eye Bright: This summer there are some beautiful light, bright, and shimmery eye shadows on the market. Make your eyes the centre of attention with a little sparkle. Choose one colour that is most flattering for you. These are generally opposite colours to your eye colour. Eg: Brown eyes Blue eye shadow, Blue eyes Brown eye shadow, Green eyes - Gold eye shadow, ect. With shimmery eye shadows it is always best to stick to the one colour unless you are very experienced in application and blending. This will also cut down on the application time. Apply the shadow starting above your eyelashes and take it up just past the crease in your eyelid. Blend lightly so you dont have a visible line. 5) Line Right: An eyeliner is a must for well-finished eye makeup. Draw a line as close to your lashes as you can and follow it up with a very dark eye shadow applied with a narrow brush. This will not only even out the liner and give you a smoky look but it also seals the pencil line so it wont budge through the night. If you are very game and you still have a bit of time you can apply liquid liner over the top. This makes for a very intense, dramatic look and it ensures that nothing will budge your eyeliner. 6) Frame Well: Dont forget your mascara. This is worth spending a minute on, as your lashes will frame your eyes to perfection. If the day or night is going to be hot, it is best to use a waterproof mascara, just to be on the safe side. Use a mascara that is not more than 3 months old (for hygiene reasons). Wipe the end of the mascara wand to remove any excess product and start applying it to the centre of the top lashes by gently wriggling it between the hairs and moving up to the ends. Repeat this a couple of times then move to the corners of the eyes, first the inner corner then the outer corner. Do not apply mascara to the lower lashes. The transfer from your top lashes when you blink is enough. 7) Killer Pout: Lip Glosses are the perfect way to finish off your party look. Not only are they quick and easy to apply, they are very glamorous too. Lip Glosses also make your lips appear fuller. You can either get a coloured gloss or use a clear gloss over your lipstick. If you are using a coloured gloss apply foundation to your lips first. This will hold your lip-gloss to your lips well. Then apply your lip-gloss the following way: instead of putting gloss on like you do lipstick (from left to right, top then bottom); first apply gloss to the middle of your bottom lip only. Rub lips together. This will keep gloss from going on too thickly. Then if more is needed apply to bottom lip only again, until the desired look is achieved. If you are using a clear gloss over your lipstick, give your lipstick a minute on your lips to settle then follow the application rules as above. As they say practice makes perfect, but even with limited experience you can follow these steps to achieve a beautiful, fresh looking makeup that you can accomplish in 15 minutes.
